The Conference is organised under the “16+1” platform, created in April 2012 in Warsaw by China and the 16 Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries to intensify and expand cooperation in the fields of investments, transport, finance, science, education, and culture. In the framework of the initiative, China has defined three potential priority areas for economic cooperation: infrastructure, high technologies, and green technologies.
Within this framework of cooperation, Slovakia has been appointed as a leading country for innovation and has agreed with China to host and organise the annual CEEC and China inter-ministerial conference on innovation and technology transfer.
The 2nd Ministerial Conference on Innovation between CEEC and China aims to become a leading platform to set up collaboration between innovation ecosystems in China and the 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe. It promotes collaboration and investments in excellent research and innovation projects to create the successful exchange of ideas, talents, know-how and resources within the 16+1 format.
The 2nd edition of the Conference will focus on collaboration in the following innovation areas:
The event will provide ample opportunity for presentation of the most interesting innovation and technology projects from both CEE and China and will create a platform to establish fruitful collaboration during the B2B matchmaking forum.

BRATISLAVA AIRPORT (BTS)

There are direct flights to a number of destinations in Europe and a number of airlines operate direct routes to Bratislava – RYANAIR, Pobeda, flydubai, Czech Airlines, Wizz Air. Bratislava Airport is about 15-20 minutes from the city centre; a taxi ride to the city centre costs around €15. If you travel on the budget, take the 61 bus to the Bratislava Central Train Station. From there, you can walk to the city centre in 15 minutes, or take the 93 and get off at the 2nd or 3rd stop. Bus tickets are available from ticket machines at bus stops or you can buy them from newsagents. A ticket costs around €1 and must be validated immediately upon boarding (validating machines are found near the doors).
VIENNA-SCHWECHAT (VIE) AIRPORT

The Vienna Schwechat Airport is only 40 kilometres west of Bratislava, and Slovaks mainly use it for long-haul flights. It is one of the main gateways to Slovakia. Buses to Bratislava depart at 30 to 60-minute intervals. Tickets can be bought on the bus; check out blaguss.at or eurolines.sk
Bratislava is situated at the junction of several important motorways. The distance from Prague is 330 km, 200 km from Budapest, and 65 km from Vienna. If you drive, you must display a valid road tax vignette on your windscreen (known as ‘diaľničná známka’), available at border crossings and petrol stations. The minimum validity period is ten days (costs around €10).

Bratislava connects to the main lines from Prague, Budapest, Vienna and various regions in Slovakia. Bratislava has two railway stations – the Central Station and Petržalka. The Central Station is well connected to the rest of the city via trams, buses or trolleybuses and you can get to the Old Town on foot in only 15 minutes. From the train station in Petržalka, buses 80, 91, and 93 will take you to the city centre.

Due to its position on the Danube, Bratislava has regular connections by boat with Vienna. The centre of Vienna (Schwedenplatz) is connected with Bratislava by a high-speed catamaran – the Twin City Liner – and one other hydrofoil boat which is berthed at Vienna Handelskai. Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center (ITS Center), Southeast University (SEU) is a secondary research institution affiliated to SEU and the ITS Engineering Research Center affiliated to China’s Ministry of Education. Transportation Engineering in SEU is ranking NO.1 in China. ITS Center is directed by Dr. Huang Wei (Chinese Academy of Engineering academician), and was one of the first institutions in China to develop ITS techniques and applications. Tianjin Polytechnic University (TJPU) is a state-run full-time institution of higher education, which is jointly established by Ministry of Education and Tianjin Municipal Government.The university has a long history with its earliest departments established in 1912.
